Cellulite - this unsightly dimpled skin that we cannot hide - is a nuisance. Even trained athletes - especially women - have cellulite. How does cellulite get on thighs and buttocks, and what can we do about it? Can we ever get rid of cellulite?
What is Cellulite?
Cellulite is an accumulation of old fat cell clusters that solidify and harden as the surrounding tissue loses its elasticity. It is common for women to develop superficial pockets of trapped fat in their thigh and buttocks region.
Excess fat is undesirable for two reasons:
- The extra weight puts an extra load on all body systems, particularly the heart and cardiovascular system, as well as the joints (knees, hips, spine).
- Toxins and petrochemicals (pesticides, herbicides, metallics) tend to accumulate in fatty tissue. This can contribute to neurological problems and a higher risk of cancer, as well as hormone imbalance. Hormones play a dominant role in the formation of cellulite.
Causes for cellulite problems
Weight gain can certainly make cellulite worse, and obese people are more prone to getting cellulite, but also thin people are not immune. Therapies to remove cellulite can be extremely costly, invasive, and also a potentially dangerous health risk.
Excess weight or no workout at all may lead to fat deposition in the body, especially in stomach, thighs, and buttocks. There are a series of fat burning exercises and kneading techniques which you can learn through Internet, yoga classes or magazines. Other causes of cellulite may involve changes in metabolism, genetic factors, insufficient circulation and more.
A toxin-free body
To combat cellulite, start by detoxifying your body. Do you remember what a toxin-free body feels like? It's brimming with health and vitality! Eating healthy food will support your efforts. For instance, Riboflavin (B2) found in good quantities in cottage cheese, avocados, leafy green vegetables, liver, wheat germ, eggs and peas will support your body.
Cellulite exercises can get rid of cellulite. However, physical activity need not to be strenuous to be beneficial. Individuals of all ages benefit from participating in regular, moderate-intensity physical activity, for example 30 minutes of brisk walking.

The Massage Oil
Cel-Lite Magic is very popular for topical use.
How to use essential oils for cellulite:
Anti-Cellulite Recipe 1:
- 5 drops rosemary CT cineol
- 10 drops grapefruit
- 2 drops cypress
Massage the oils one after the other into the skin, at least once daily, and before exercising. Cellulite is slow to dissolve, so target areas should be worked for a month or more in conjunction with weight training and a weight loss program.
Anti-Cellulite Recipe 2:
- 9 drops lemon
- 9 drops cypress
- 2 ounces of jojoba oil
This is a massage mixture that you can rub into problem areas. Remember, old fat and cellulite take longer to dissolve, so be patient. You should begin to see results in 6 to 8 weeks when used in combination with a muscle-building and weight-loss regime.
Anti-Cellulite Recipe 3:
- 10 drops grapefruit
- 5 drops lavender
- 3 drops helichrysum
- 3 drops patchouly
- 4 drops cypress
- 1 oz. Massage Oil Base (V-6)
Add 3-5 more drops of grapefruit oil to increase fat-dissolving action in areas of fat rolls, puckers, and dimples. Apply several times a day, depending on the extent of the problem and your age.
And here is a Bath Recipe for you:
Anti-Cellulite Bath Recipe:
- 5 drops juniper
- 3 drops orange
- 3 drops cypress
- 3 drops lemon
- 2 tbsp. honey
Mix the oils in honey and dissolve in warm bath water. Follow up by massaging with Cel-Lite Magic after bath.
