Sharing Your Garden With Your Cat
If you love your cat - as I do - you probably won't mind when your cat enjoys itself in the garden. After all, it's his garden too ...
In fact, my little cat loves to work with me in the garden. When I trim the edge of the lawn with the scissors, it watches every move - ready to jump in when needed.
Yesterday I planted a little brush - it is covered with little white flowers and looks so pretty. The cat feels the same. It seems to think I had planted that "tree" just for it. The cat lays under the flowering branches, holds on to the stem and enjoys the wonderful scent. See for yourself!
When I plant flowers, it is just the same. The cat would sit next to the new plant to guard and protect it. But not always. When I planted tulips last fall, my cat was busy unearthing the bulbs again. From time to time I had to cover the bulbs with soil again. See a picture of our fine gardening work here. You'll see, the tulips did not mind kitty's extra work - or play.
Today I decided to plant cat grass. I thought my cats would love their very own grass. Kitty cat was assisting me and took charge of the basket. It laid beside it to guard the treasure. When I water the plant, the cat watches attentively - even trying some of the water itself Banning a cat from your garden is not always necessary. After all, cats are Souls too. They live with you and keep you company. They make you laugh. And when you are sad, they are snuggling up to you even closer to show you their love and care. What could a few holes in your flower bed matter compared to a cat's love! |
