Uses of Lime Essential Oil

There are so many uses of Young Living’s Lime essential oil. We can use it aromatically, topically, and we can also take it internally. Along with these wide variety of uses are lots of benefits from this oil. Lime essential oil has an invigorating pleasant citrus scent that when used aromatically may help promote mental clarity and may also encourage creativity. Lime may reduce dark spots due to aging providing antioxidants to the skin when used topically. It also acts as an insect deterrent. This essential oil may help support a healthy digestive system and can be a good aid in weight management when taken internally.

However, the use of Lime in cooking is one of the most versatile uses of this essential oil. But because it’s so highly concentrated, we must keep in mind to start by adding only half of a drop of Lime to a recipe. This should also be done with any other Young Living essential oils that are used for cooking. It is safe to use a toothpick when adding oil to the recipe, just put a toothpick inside the bottle and then add more oil to taste. Adding too much Lime essential oil to get a fresh lime flavor to your recipe is not necessary. The best way to make your recipes pop is to combine Lime essential oil with olive oil and use it as a marinade for veggies or meat. If it happens that you don’t have lemon for your recipe, you can use Lime as a substitute.

LimeDelicious Limeade

  • Fresh fruit (strawberries, cherries, etc.)
  • 1-2 drops Lime essential oil
  • 2 cups crushed ice
  • 1 cup water

Put the crushed ice and water to the blender. Then, add fresh fruits of your choice. Put 1-2 drops of Lime essential oil and blend. Enjoy the delicious limeade!

Lime Yogurt Sauce

  • To sweeten the taste of your recipe, you can choose from Young Living’s Stevia Extract, Yacon Syrup, or Blue Agave
  • soy yogurt or 1 quart plain unsweetened
  • add 6 drops Lime essential oil

Simply add all the ingredients together and stir. Then, use the sauce over fruit ot dessert.
